The Calculation Method of Solar Panel Combination

When using our 3phase 220VAC output solar inverter, we recommend inputting 305V direct voltage.

1) The quantity of each group solar panel(Q1) =305VDC/the direct voltage of each solar panel

2) The power of each group solar panel(P1) =The power of each solar panel * The quantity of each group solar panel(Q1)

3) Total number of solar panel groups(Q2)=The power of motor *1.5/The power of each group solar panel(P1)


For example:

About 5.5KW water pump, input 3PH 220VACeach solar panel :250W, 60VDC, so how the Solar panel combination is ?

1) The quantity of each group solar panel(Q1)=305V/60V=5 pcs

2) The power of each group solar panel(P1)=250W*5=1250W

3) Total number of solar panel groups(Q2)=5500W*1.5/1250W=7 groups

In this case, we need 5 pcs connected in series by 7 in parallel groups.

We recommend the solar inverter 540VDC input ,which is 3PH 380VAC output.

1) The quantity of each Group of solar panel: Q1=540VDC/The voltage of each solar panel

2) The power of each group solar panel P1=the power of each solar panel * The quantity of each Group of solar panel Q1

3) Total number of solar panel groups: Q2=The power of motor * 1.5 / The power of each group solar panel. P1

For example: The pump is 5.5KW,380Vinput. The specification of each solar panel is 250w,60V.How many the solar panel needed?

1) The quantity of each Group of solar panel: Q1= 540V/60V=9 Pieces

2) The power of each group solar panel: P1=250W*9=2250W

3) Total number of solar panel groups: Q2=5500W*1.5/2250W=4 groups

In this case, we need 9 pcs connected in series by 4 in parallel groups. Total 9x4=36pcs.

The notes below should be considered for the AC debug

Power On Sequencing:

  Disconnect Q2 firstly, and then wait at least 5 minuets until controller discharge (or digital LED and all indicators extinguish ), then close Q1. Otherwise, will cause the damage of controller.

Notice 

  When need to transform the power supply mode from power frequency to photovoltaic cell; you only need to turn off “Q1”firstly and then close “Q2”.
